A senior communications aide working closely with Donald Trump has become an increasingly visible figure within the president’s media operation, attracting online attention during recent public appearances.
Margo Martin, who serves as Special Assistant to the President and Communications Adviser, has also repeatedly gone viral after being mistaken for former First Lady Melania Trump, reports The Express.
Rising profile
Martin has emerged as one of the key figures behind Trump’s digital messaging strategy and online campaign presence.
According to reports from The Express and Daily Mail, her role has expanded further during periods when White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stepped back for maternity leave.
The Oklahoma native began her political career in 2019 after graduating from Texas Christian University, initially joining the Trump White House as a junior press aide.
Following Trump’s 2020 election defeat, Martin remained with his team in Florida while many former administration officials departed, helping manage communications operations during his post-presidency.
Social media role
Martin is now heavily involved in producing online content surrounding Trump, including behind-the-scenes videos, campaign footage, and rapid-response political clips.
Reports describe her as a major part of the president’s “influencer machine,” frequently filming Trump during rallies, court appearances, and overseas trips.
Donald Trump has publicly praised Martin in the past, reportedly referring to her as “the most beautiful photographer in the world.”
While Trump continues writing many of his own posts on Truth Social, Martin and her team are said to oversee official campaign accounts, video messaging, and digital outreach operations.
Melania confusion
Public attention surrounding Martin increased after several high-profile incidents in which she was mistaken for Melania Trump.
One widely discussed moment occurred outside a Miami courthouse, where Martin appeared alongside Trump wearing dark sunglasses and black clothing similar to styles often associated with the former first lady.
In another incident during a 2023 Fox News broadcast, anchor John Roberts mistakenly identified footage of Martin as showing Melania Trump before later issuing a correction on air.
Similar confusion reportedly resurfaced during Trump’s 2024 hush money trial appearances when Melania was absent from proceedings.
Private life
Despite her growing public profile, Martin has kept much of her personal life out of the spotlight.
Reports note that her sister, Markie Martin, works as a television news anchor for NewsNation.
Media speculation has also linked Martin romantically to former lacrosse player Brock Sorensen, though neither has publicly confirmed the relationship.
Her social media accounts frequently feature professional moments from Trump-related events as well as photos with political and entertainment figures.
