Politicians often love the sound of their own voices.

Sometimes a leader is so proud of a recent statement that they demand to hear it read out loud by the press.

And sometimes, the resulting conversation takes a truly bizarre turn into alternative political realities.

A strange boast

During a recent press briefing inside the Oval Office, the American president decided to pause the usual questions. He wanted to focus on a specific social media update he had just published.

Donald Trump was eager to discuss his thoughts on the current mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani. The local official openly describes himself as a democratic socialist.

But the president took the conversation in an unexpected direction. He confidently claimed he could easily beat the mayor at his own political game.

“I would be better than him if I wanted to go with that route,” Trump told the room according to Mirror.

Promising the impossible

The president then launched into a mocking imitation of his political rival. He painted a picture of a system where nobody ever has to pay for their basic living expenses.

“Ladies and gentlemen, you will no longer pay rent,” he declared. “You no longer have to pay interest on your mortgage, and no longer gonna have to pay for food. I’m gonna give you free food.”

This highly unusual performance followed a very dramatic warning he had posted online earlier in the day. The message appeared on his personal Truth Social account.

Reading it back

In that digital update, the president warned that far-left policies eventually ruin entire cities. He wrote, “Communists always do well with the Voters or, as they would say, THE PEOPLE, in the Early Years! But, in the end, the Country, State, or City, GOES TO HELL!”

He added that such governments inevitably collapse into crime and poverty. His fiery post concluded with a stark warning about “guaranteed DEATH AND DESTRUCTION!”

He was clearly thrilled with his own dark summary. When NTD News reporter Iris Tao brought up the statement, the president brought the entire briefing to a halt.

He asked her to read his exact words back to him. According to the news report, Trump then asked her, “I just wrote that, did you like that?”
