The aircraft mysteriously disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from Lilongwe, the nation’s capital, en route to Mzuzu International Airport in northern Malawi.

The sudden loss of contact has left authorities scrambling for answers.

In response to the crisis, President Lazarus Chakwera has canceled his scheduled trip to the Bahamas.
