Former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya publicly accused Donald Trump of cheating during a round of golf together by moving his ball and ignoring penalty strokes.
Former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya has publicly called out Donald Trump over his behavior during a previous round of golf together, according to Daily Mail.
Speaking directly to reporters, the multi-division boxing icon pulled no punches when describing how the former president managed his game on the course.
The retired fighter claimed that Trump repeatedly altered his lie to gain an unfair advantage against opponents.
De La Hoya explained that penalty strokes for water hazards were conveniently left off the scorecard, while balls hit deep into the rough somehow ended up neatly positioned in the middle of the fairway.
“It was unbelievable,” De La Hoya told the Associated Press, adding, “It shows something about his character.”
A gentleman’s game
De La Hoya emphasized that integrity remains central to the sport regardless of who is playing. “Golf is a gentleman’s sport.
You don’t lie about your score; you don’t lie about moving your ball. It goes to show what we’re dealing with,” he told the Associated Press, according to Daily Mail.
The former boxer is far from the only notable figure to point to questionable habits on the course.

Other prominent individuals, including former President Barack Obama, have previously dropped hints regarding Trump’s golfing style.
These accusations align with claims made by sports journalist Rick Reilly, who documented first-hand accounts of Trump driving a modified, high-speed golf cart to reach his ball early and alter its lie undetected.
Among the most memorable incidents was a shot dispatched straight into a pond, which Trump reportedly shrugged off with a quip about the tide when the ball miraculously resurfaced back on playable grass.
Trump has consistently rejected all claims of dishonesty, maintaining that he possesses far too much integrity to cheat at the game, Daily Mail reports.
