Users immediately thought that Vance was stepping up to announce the death of Donald Trump.
The internet loves a good conspiracy theory.
Give social media users a vague schedule update, and they will spin it into a global crisis in minutes. Sometimes the official response is just as wild.
Sudden panic online
The latest frenzy started with a simple post on X. The White House press office announced that Vice President JD Vance would take the podium for a briefing.
They gave no details about the topic. It was expected to be Vance’s first solo briefing in months.
That silence was all it took according to VT. Users immediately guessed that Vance was stepping up to announce the death of Donald Trump.
False breaking news alerts flooded the platform. One user claimed the president had been found dead, while another promised to buy drinks for everyone.
An explosive reply
There was absolutely no evidence to support this. Behind the scenes, the administration had not hinted at any sort of medical emergency.
Still, the speculation reached such a fever pitch that reporters reached out for comment. The official reply left no room for doubt.
When IGV asked about the situation, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle delivered a blistering statement. He made it clear the president is very much alive.
“Only glue-sniffing degenerates would obsessively push baseless conspiracy theories about President Trump, and that’s because they suffer from a severe, crippling disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome that has completely rotted their peanut-sized brains,” Ingle told the outlet.
Health under the microscope
The rumors did not come from nowhere. Trump has faced intense public scrutiny over his physical condition recently.
Observers have frequently pointed out bruising on his hands and swelling in his legs. This led to multiple visits to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
White House physician Dr Sean Barbabella explained that an ultrasound found chronic venous insufficiency. He called it a “benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”
Critics remain vocal
Trump has repeatedly brushed off any concerns. He recently told reporters that his medical scans were “perfect” and insisted he remains fit.
Not everyone agrees. Cardiologist Dr Jonathan Reiner has publicly stated he is “seriously concerned about the health of the president.”
Mary Trump, the president’s niece, has also questioned his cognitive state. “Every single day Donald Trump appears to be losing it,” she claimed.
