Princess Kate attracted attention during an unannounced appearance alongside Prince William in Northern Ireland on Friday, October 9.
The royal couple travelled to Belfast to support an initiative helping vulnerable young people build more secure futures, while Catherine’s appearance also generated praise online reports The Express.
Tackling Youth Homelessness
The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Belfast to promote Homewards, a five-year programme launched by William in 2023 to help prevent and tackle homelessness.
According to ITV News, the engagements focused on organizations providing young people with opportunities for employment, stability and long-term independence.
The couple visited The Commons, a former church being developed into a community hub, where they met people involved in the New Employment Opportunities Network.
People magazine reported that the Northern Ireland employment pilot has already helped young participants secure jobs and develop workplace confidence. Plans are underway to extend the approach to four additional UK locations.
Kate’s Belfast Style
Alongside the couple’s charitable engagements, Catherine’s outfit attracted considerable attention from royal followers.
The princess wore a green tartan skirt by Emilia Wickstead with a white blouse and black coat, completing her appearance with heels and loosely waved hair styled partly up.
According to The Express, admirers shared enthusiastic reactions on social media, with one writing: “Love her dress sense. Amazing kilt.”
Another commented: “Wow!! I love this look on Catherine! Stunning!”
Expanding Employment Opportunities
The Northern Ireland programme brings employers and support organizations together to help young people facing homelessness overcome barriers to employment.
Rather than focusing solely on securing jobs, the initiative also provides connections and support intended to help participants remain employed.
People reported that the Belfast pilot will serve as a model for similar employment partnerships elsewhere in Britain.
The royal visit highlighted how employment support forms part of Homewards’ wider strategy to prevent homelessness before it becomes entrenched.
