As Trump’s popularity vanishes, so does his fans on his own social media platform.
Donald Trump’s social platform, Truth Social, is getting into dangerous territory financially. Last Monday, its shares fell by more than 7.5 percent, dropping to an all-time low of just $6.40.
Over the past month alone, the stock plunged around 29 percent.
The quarterly losses have caused a deeper financial hole. When Truth Social went public, the company was viewed as an opportunity for Trump’s MAGA loyalists to support him, but now with the stock in free fall, patience is running thin.
No one uses Truth Social
According to reporting from the Daily Beast, daily user traffic on the network collapsed by more than 30 percent over the past year.
People visit less often, spend fewer minutes scrolling the feed, and show fading interest in what the president has to say on the platform. It does not help either that many other social media platforms provide Trump’s “truths” without users needing to visit the platform.
CNBC reported all the way back in March that Trump Media, the company that owns Truth Social, has lost half its value since Trump took office in 2024.
New and strange business ventures
Faced with falling engagement, executives panicked. The firm launched desperate bids into digital gambling and cryptocurrency products, but neither experiment caught on with regular users.
The company also floated an unexpected merger plan with a nuclear fusion firm. In addition, it began selling early access to Trump’s personal posts, drawing fierce backlash from critics who viewed it as an overt attempt to cash in on the presidency.
None of those fixes turned things around. With user numbers drying up and cash burning fast, the social network faces an uphill struggle to survive Trump’s second term in the White House.
