There is growing unrest about what Trump will do Tuesday night if the Republicans lose the majority in the Senate.
Donald Trump is a president under pressure. His party is staring at a potentially monumental loss on Tuesday when the midterm elections are concluded.
Trump has a history of not accepting the outcome of an election—most famously in 2020, when he lost to Joe Biden and started an insurrection at the Capitol.
He is also now sowing doubt about whether he will accept the election results come Tuesday.
“If they’re honest”
But why would Americans worry about Trump trying to dispute and ultimately disrupt the conduct of this election?
Because he is saying that himself. When asked by a reporter whether he will respect the election results, whatever happens, Trump answered this:
“Well, if they’re honest elections, yeah.” It is unclear what constitutes an “honest” election in Trump’s mind. Some might say he thinks the election is dishonest if Republicans lose.

Voter rolls in California and a dispute in Alaska
The Trump administration is already laying the groundwork for making this election as challenging as possible and seeing how much they can get away with.
In California, the Trump-controlled DOJ ordered a criminal investigation into alleged noncitizen voting in the state. A federal judge later denied the administration’s request to throw out votes from 20,000 citizens.
In Alaska, Trump is trying to disqualify and prosecute Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola, who is leading in the polls, because she and her campaign team allegedly tried to stack the ballot, which is not a crime.
There will be a lot of people constantly checking Truth Social because they are worried about what Trump might do and say on Tuesday.
