Trump attacks judge that slapped him with gag order

Former president Donald Trump criticized U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan shortly after being given a gag order in the federal 2020 election interference trial.

During a campaign rally in Adel, Iowa, on Monday, the former president voiced his concerns to the crowd of his supporters, saying it was “totally unconstitutional what she did.”

Judge Chutkan Limits Trump’s Public Remarks on Trial

On Monday morning, Judge Chutkan agreed in part to the Justice Department’s plea to restrict Trump from making public remarks that target prosecutors, witnesses, and court personnel related to the case.

The order also curtails his engagement with social media and public appearances concerning the trial.

Addressing the court, the judge stated, “Mr. Trump is facing criminal charges. He can’t react to every critique of him if it might influence potential witnesses. That’s the crux of the matter.”
