According to a Daily Mail and Newsner insider, the former president and first lady have dinner together every night—even though they maintain separate bedrooms.
The source compared their arrangement to that of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, noting that such setups can be normal in long-standing marriages and are “not indicative of an unhappy relationship.”
The residence staff really liked the Trumps during the first term. If you have a frigid marriage on a knife’s edge, staff can tell, and it’s uncomfortable,” the source said. “There was a good vibe from the housekeepers.

The Trumps first met in New York in the late 1990s.
Melania, a model at the time, initially resisted Donald’s advances. Still, the pair eventually began dating, briefly split in 2000, then reunited and married in 2005.
They’ve weathered numerous controversies and intense media scrutiny, especially during Donald’s presidency and beyond.
In her memoir Melania, the first lady described their first meeting as filled with “undeniable spark,” praising Donald’s confidence and humor.
Yet over the years, reports have hinted at increasing distance between them, with few public displays of affection and rare joint appearances—especially during Donald’s 2024 campaign trail.
Author Michael Wolff has claimed in two books (Fire and Fury and All or Nothing) that Melania has no desire to live near her husband full time and laughed off efforts to get her involved in campaign events.
Trump’s team has strongly denied these claims, with spokesman Steven Cheung calling Wolff “a fraud.”

Despite such rumors, the couple was seen in what body language experts called a “rare warm moment” during Pope Francis’ funeral in April.
Trump was noted for his unusually affectionate behavior—placing an arm around Melania’s waist and engaging with her in a visibly caring way.
