Former President Donald Trump has expressed interest in selecting former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson as his vice-presidential running mate, should he secure the GOP nomination for the 2024 election.

Trump’s comments came during an appearance on “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show,” where he responded positively to the suggestion of teaming up with Carlson.

Trump praised Carlson for his common sense, a trait he feels is central to their conservative ideology.

He elaborated on their shared perspectives, emphasizing the importance of border security and the effectiveness of walls, a recurring theme from his previous presidential campaign.

Carlson, known for his prime-time show featuring controversial and far-right content, was dismissed from Fox News in April.

Despite his public support for Trump, Carlson has privately expressed strong negative feelings about the former president.

Trump’s appearance on Carlson’s social media show coincided with his absence from the first GOP primary debate. Other names mentioned as potential vice-presidential candidates for Trump include far-right Rep.

Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, and Arizona’s unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.
