What is happening?
Walt Disney World in Florida has announced that it is closing a number of it’s original attractions to make room for two new lands.
A few weeks left
According to Mirror US, the original attractions closing are The Liberty Square Riverboat, the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island.
They will cease operations on July 7.
Cars-land coming
The thrre original attractions will be removed to make room for a new land themed around the popular Pixar movie-series “Cars”.
Off-road rally experience
According to Mirror US, Disney has confirmed the comprehensive transformation.
They also said that the new Cars-land will be named Piston Peak and introduce a high-energy off-road rally experience.
Celebrating villains
The park also hinted at a new area celebrating Disney villains is in the pipeline.
It is said to be celebrating all things “bad guys”.
No opening dates – yet
There’s already signifcant work taking place backstage at the park, and shortly after the closure of the three original attractions, the constrution work for Piston Peak will begin.
Disney is yet to reveal an opening date for the new land.
