Renault has issued a safety recall in the UK—six of its popular models are impacted by a fault in the electronic parking brake system that may allow vehicles to roll unexpectedly.

Six Models Under Recall’

Models affected include the Megane E‑Tech, Captur, Scenic E‑Tech, Austral, Symbioz, Rafale and six Dacia Dusters. All built between April 2024 and January 2025.

What’s Wrong with the Brake System

The problem stems from a misaligned position sensor inside the parking brake actuator. This might cause the brake pin to misposition when “P” is engaged.

Risk of Unexpected Movement

Because the brake may not engage properly, vehicles could roll unintentionally—posing danger when parked, especially on inclines or uneven ground.

Owners Will Be Contacted

Renault has stated that affected UK owners will be contacted directly about which cars are involved.
