According to People, authorities in Arizona are investigating after a woman’s body was found inside a “large cardboard box” in a remote desert area east of Kingman, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
Police said they received a call on Sept. 5 from a man who had been surveying his property and came across what he described as a suspicious package.
The caller told dispatchers that he believed a deceased person might be inside.
Victim identified
Detectives arrived at the scene and confirmed that a woman was found dead inside the box.
Fingerprint analysis later identified her as 57-year-old Carolyn Ann Bosher, a transient from Las Vegas.
Earlier arrest
Authorities said they are working with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), which confirmed that Bosher had been arrested in Las Vegas for indecent exposure just days earlier, on August 30.
Car spotted the night before
Investigators spoke to another person who reported seeing a car in the same area the previous night.
The witness said the vehicle’s trunk was open but could not provide a description because it was dark.
No sign of death at the scene
The MCSO said there is no indication that Bosher was killed where her body was found.
Detectives are continuing to look for evidence to determine how and where she died, and who may have been involved.
