Over 833,000 Peloton exercise bikes are being recalled due to a fall and injury hazard, according to a new announcement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Is your Peloton bike safe?

The recall affects the Peloton Original Series Bike+, specifically model number PL02 with serial numbers starting with “T.”

These bikes were sold nationwide at Peloton and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores, as well as online via Peloton, Dick’s, Amazon, and eBay between January 2020 and April 2025.

Each bike retailed for around $2,495.

The issue is that the seat post assembly can break during use, putting riders at risk of falling and sustaining injuries.

Peloton has already received three reports of the seat post breaking during use, including two confirmed injuries.

If you own one of these bikes, stop using it immediately and check the model and serial number to see if yours is affected.

If your bike matches the recall information, contact Peloton for a free replacement seat post.

If you’ve been injured after using your Peloton, seek medical attention and consider reporting the incident to the CPSC for further investigation.

Not the first recall

This isn’t Peloton’s first recall.
