A cylinder explosion at a building in Râmnicu Vâlcea’s Copăcelu neighborhood triggered a fire on Friday morning, injuring one man and prompting a large response from emergency services, Digi24.ro reported.
A building in the Copăcelu neighborhood of Râmnicu Vâlcea was damaged on Friday morning after a cylinder exploded and sparked a fire.
Emergency teams were deployed rapidly as smoke and flames spread through an annex of the property.
Emergency response
According to Digi24.ro, firefighters from the Vâlcea emergency services were alerted shortly after the blast. News.ro reported that crews from the Râmnicu Vâlcea Fire Department headed to the scene with two water-and-foam engines, an extrication vehicle, a CBRN unit, a SMURD ambulance and a county ambulance.
When teams arrived, they confirmed an explosion had occurred and that the resulting fire had taken hold of an outbuilding. Firefighters worked to contain the flames while medical crews assessed the injured resident.
Injured resident treated
Authorities said a man suffered burns to his head. He received immediate treatment from first-aid personnel on site before being handed over to medical teams for further care.
Officials have not yet released additional details about his condition.
