Ritz is urging customers to check their snack shelves after the company announced a recall affecting thousands of boxes of its popular cracker sandwiches.
The issue stems from a labeling error.
What’s being recalled
According to Mondelēz International, the recall applies to 20-count, 27.6-ounce boxes of Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches that may have been mistakenly packaged with Cheese labels.
The mislabeling means consumers might unknowingly eat a product containing peanuts.

Affected products were distributed in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
Allergen warning
Mondelēz said the mislabeling could lead to “serious or life-threatening allergic reactions” for people with peanut allergies.
Anyone experiencing difficulty breathing, swelling, hives or other signs of anaphylaxis after consuming the crackers should seek emergency medical attention immediately.
This recall follows a nationwide Ritz recall in July involving the same manufacturing issue.
Customers are advised to check their cabinets and snack drawers.

Boxes matching the recall description should be discarded or returned to the store where they were purchased for a possible refund.
Mondelēz has not reported any illnesses linked to the current recall.
