A fleeting new look at The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has surfaced, offering fans just a hint of what’s next.

The footage premiered during The Game Awards and lasted only half a minute.

Despite its short runtime, the clip delivered a memorable moment and renewed excitement around Nintendo’s next big-screen adventure.

A quick reveal

The newly shown scene runs for roughly 30 seconds and focuses on an encounter involving Mario, Luigi and Bowser Jr.

It does not give away major plot developments, but it adds texture to what has already been teased.

Visually, the trailer leans into colorful action and familiar locations, keeping its surprises tightly contained.

Cornered heroes

In the footage, Mario and Luigi appear trapped inside what looks like Princess Peach’s castle.

Bowser Jr. confronts them while wielding his paintbrush, threatening the brothers and demanding the return of his father.

Earlier trailers have already established that Bowser has been reduced in size and now lives inside a miniature castle housed within Peach’s domain, a setup echoed again in this brief clip.

Luigi steps up

Luigi initially tries to introduce himself politely, but the exchange quickly turns violent.

Bowser Jr. strikes Mario with his paintbrush, forming a spiked weapon that sends him flying.

As the scuffle continues, Mario struggles to regain control. Luigi then charges in with a knee strike, turning the tide and reinforcing that he is no longer just the anxious sidekick audiences remember.

Release plans ahead

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on April 3, 2026. The film brings back much of the voice cast from previous installments.

Chris Pratt returns as Mario, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. New additions include Brie Larson as Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.

Nintendo has also hinted that the movie will feature several lesser-known characters from its universe. How obscure those appearances will be remains unclear.
