Ubisoft has released a free demo of Star Wars Outlaws across platforms.
According to the publisher, the trial does not require PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass, or any paid subscription.
The demo is designed as a standalone introduction rather than a stripped-down teaser.
It offers access to a large slice of the game, allowing players to test its mechanics and pacing firsthand.
Ubisoft says the demo reflects the current state of the game, following multiple updates released in recent months to address launch feedback.
Life on tatooine
The demo is set primarily on Tatooine, one of the franchise’s most recognisable planets.
Players step into the role of outlaw Kay Vess, accompanied by her creature companion, Nix.
According to Ubisoft, the experience includes surface exploration by speeder, encounters with hostile factions such as the Hutt Cartel and Tusken Raiders, and mission-based objectives tied to recruiting allies.
Players can also spend time in Mos Eisley, where side activities and contracts are available alongside minigames inspired by the Star Wars universe.
Beyond the city
The trial extends beyond ground-level exploration. Ubisoft says players can take control of Kay’s ship and venture into space surrounding Tatooine.
These sections include dogfights and navigation challenges meant to showcase the game’s space combat systems. The demo also encourages free-roaming outside city hubs to uncover optional encounters and rewards.
Ubisoft has positioned the trial as a way to sample the full range of gameplay styles before committing to the complete release.
Looking ahead
The free demo arrives shortly before Star Wars Outlaws is added to Xbox Game Pass later this month, according to Ubisoft.
