The health and well-being of Russian President Vladimir Putin have been the subject of much speculation in recent times.

A recent claim by Valery Solovey, a renowned political scientist, has added fuel to the fire.

In an interview on the YouTube channel ‘Khodorkovsky Live’, Solovey made the bold assertion that Putin’s days are numbered and that he might pass away by the end of this autumn.

Solovey’s statement comes on the heels of his previous remarks about Putin’s noticeable swelling, suggesting that the Russian leader might be terminally ill. He pointed out that Putin has been conspicuously absent from the public eye since early 2020.

Solovey now goes a step further, stating that confirmation of Putin’s death will be imminent. “As soon as Putin dies, we will be informed within a few hours. There are too many stakeholders, both outside and within Russia, for such information to remain a secret. This will happen before the end of autumn,” he commented.

However, Solovey did not specify the cause of Putin’s alleged impending death. It’s worth noting that the channel he spoke to was established by exiled Russian businessman Mikhal Khodorkovsky, who interviewed the political scientist.

Rumors about Putin’s deteriorating health have been circulating ever since he ordered his troops to enter Ukraine in March 2022. From cancer to his apparent physical decline, the Kremlin has consistently maintained that the president is in good health. However, a leading Ukrainian plastic surgeon, Dmytro Slosser, added to the speculations earlier this week.

Speaking to Turkey’s Channel 24 TV, Slosser mentioned, “The idea that Putin has a double felt like a conspiracy theory a year or two ago, but now almost no one doubts it.” He highlighted the inconsistent way Putin’s arms seem to hang, sometimes the left and at other times the right. “His left arm dangled freely when he arrived on the presidential plane in Vladivostok. I’ve compiled a few videos, including one from Tehran in July 2022, where we can see that his right arm is actually numb.”

The Kremlin has yet to respond to these latest claims.
