Public speaking is a high-wire act where every single word gets heavily scrutinized.

Just one tiny mistake on a smartphone screen can trigger a massive national conversation.

That exact scenario is currently unfolding at the White House.

A spelling blunder

US President Donald Trump admitted to a highly unusual typing mistake on Wednesday. The political leader confessed that he accidentally called his own wife a completely different name online.

He typed out the name Melody instead of Melania while posting quickly on the social media platform Truth Social. The Daily Express reported that he blamed a faulty autocorrect system for the glaring error.

The president explained that the software constantly changed her name. He works incredibly fast. Because of that speed, he claimed he simply missed the digital error before hitting the publish button.

Calling for backup

Getting help with computer settings usually involves calling a tech support hotline or asking a younger relative. The commander in chief reportedly took a much more drastic approach. He called in the big guns.

He told the audience that the armed forces actually stepped in to resolve his software glitch.

“They said, ‘He didn’t know the name of his wife!’ I said, ‘What the hell is wrong with this machine?’ … You know who corrected it? The military,” the president stated during his speech.

Online backlash grows

This bizarre technology claim immediately set off alarm bells. Critics pounced on the excuse as clear evidence of cognitive decline.

Worried observers flooded the comment sections with speculation about dementia and severe mental fatigue. Some people even referenced the late-day confusion commonly known as sundowning.

One angry social media user highlighted the sheer absurdity of using defense resources for a phone issue. “He cant even be bothered to proofread his own tweets but expects the military to fix it for him, says a lot about his priorities and respect for the military’s time and resources,” the commenter wrote.

Another frustrated critic took things a step further. “It’s 25th Amendment time. Or are we going to wait until he’s a drooling mess?” they asked online.
