A viral video filmed by an American paramotor pilot has sparked global curiosity after showing a stray dog named Apollo perched atop Egypt's Khafre Pyramid.

A Dog on a Pyramid

The pyramid, where Apollo was found is located near the Great Pyramid of Giza, which stands about 446 feet tall. Marshall Mosher, the pilot who captured the footage, posted the video on Instagram on October 15, quickly attracting thousands of views and comments, according to Ziare.

“A dog made it to the top of the Pyramid in Giza! Do you think he lives up there?” Mosher captioned his video.

Followers responded with a mix of amusement and concern, with some wondering how the dog reached such a remote location.

One viewer humorously remarked: “This dog climbing the Great Pyramid in Giza knows something we don’t. He or she is the ultimate dog of all time.”

Made it Down Safely

The day after posting, Mosher updated viewers, reassuring them that Apollo had safely made his way down.

Ibrahim Elbendary, co-founder of the Cairo-based American Animal Rescue Foundation, also provided background on Apollo, explaining that the dog is a well-known stray in the area.

Elbendary noted that Apollo has a tendency to scale the pyramid whenever anyone tries to approach him. “Every time we try to catch him, he bolts right up to the top of the pyramid,” he explained.

The video has continued to gain traction online, with people worldwide captivated by Apollo's unique adventure. It appears that the stray dog has turned one of the world’s most famous landmarks into his personal playground.
