China’s electric vehicle market isn’t just growing — it’s leading. At this year’s Shenzhen and Shanghai industry expos, Chinese battery maker SEVB revealed an ultra-fast charging battery that can add 150 kilometers of range in just one minute.

That’s faster than filling up a fuel tank, and it’s already sparking global attention.

But the breakthrough is part of something bigger: a full-scale energy innovation strategy that SEVB hopes will change how we drive, store, and think about power.

The Tech: 1.4 Megawatts in a Minute

Unveiled under SEVB’s Flash Charging Battery 4.0 platform, the new Star Chaser 2.0 series introduces the Xinxingchi 2.0 Kiloamp Extreme Charging Edition — the first EV battery capable of ultra-fast charging at 1,400 amps.

Built with a 1,000V architecture and advanced liquid cooling, the system reaches 1.4 megawatts of peak charging power.

This enables a full 450 km charge in 5 minutes and delivers a full charge in the time it takes to order a coffee — all while maintaining 90% efficiency even in freezing temperatures down to -20°C.

SEVB says its goal is to “achieve true parity between petrol and electricity” — in both convenience and cost.

More Than Just a Battery

At the 21st Shanghai International Auto Show, SEVB showcased its broader innovation ecosystem, which spans EVs, hybrids, commercial vehicles, energy storage, and even low-altitude flight.

  • Hybrid Batteries: With over 1.5 million units installed, SEVB’s hybrid solutions offer ultra-fast charging, long-range electric operation, and cold-start reliability down to -35°C.
  • Commercial Vehicles: A 1.4 MW logistics battery boosts fleet efficiency with just 15 minutes of charging and a life span of 2 million kilometers.
  • Aviation Tech: SEVB debuted semi-solid state batteries with 400 Wh/kg energy density — powering vertical takeoff drones in partnership with CASC.
  • Energy Storage: Its next-gen 600 Ah cells promise 12,000+ cycles and are already ranked among China’s top 10 in global energy storage output.

From Labs to Life

The company’s momentum is backed by deep investment in AI-powered manufacturing, battery passport tracking, and a bold commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050. Its innovations aren’t just theoretical — SEVB’s fast-charging tech is already being installed in high-end vehicles and logistics networks across China.

As reported by El Economista, SEVB isn’t just designing faster batteries. It’s building an energy platform where EVs, drones, freight, and the grid converge.

And in the process, it may be writing the blueprint for the next generation of global clean energy.
