Range remains one of the biggest concerns for drivers considering an electric vehicle, especially as more buyers look beyond short city commutes.

Range remains one of the biggest concerns for drivers considering an electric vehicle, especially as more buyers look beyond short city commutes.

But one luxury EV is standing out in 2026 by pushing driving distance far beyond most rivals currently on the market.

The new range leader

According to BGR, the 2026 Lucid Air Grand Touring currently offers the longest driving range of any production EV available in the US.

The luxury sedan delivers an EPA-estimated range of up to 512 miles on a full charge.

Lucid Motors also says the vehicle can reach nearly 600 miles under Europe’s WLTP testing cycle, outperforming rivals including the Mercedes-Benz EQS.

More than just range

The Lucid Air Grand Touring is also built around high performance and fast charging.

Lucid says the EV can recover roughly 200 miles of range in about 12 minutes when connected to a compatible 350 kW fast charger.

The dual-motor setup produces more than 800 horsepower and allows the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in roughly three seconds.

Luxury focus

The Air Grand Touring targets the premium EV market with a spacious cabin, upscale materials and advanced technology features.

Car and Driver described the interior as refined and modern, while The Drive praised the vehicle’s exterior styling.

The sedan can seat up to five passengers and includes generous storage space compared with many competing luxury EVs.

Real-world testing

Independent reviewers have also highlighted the vehicle’s long-distance capability.

Car and Driver reported the Lucid Air Grand Touring managed more than 400 miles in its highway range testing.

MotorTrend described the EV as offering “industry-leading range,” while Autoblog praised its mix of efficiency and performance.

The bigger EV battle

Long-range EVs are becoming increasingly important as automakers compete to reduce range anxiety and attract more mainstream buyers.

Charging infrastructure has improved in recent years, but many consumers still prioritize battery range when shopping for electric vehicles.

The Lucid Air Grand Touring starts at more than $114,000 in the US, placing it firmly in the luxury category.

What comes next

Automakers continue racing to improve battery technology, charging speeds and efficiency as competition in the EV market intensifies.

For now, the Lucid Air Grand Touring has emerged as one of the clearest examples of how far modern electric vehicles can travel on a single charge.
