The world of Harry Potter is in mourning as Michael Gambon, who portrayed the beloved character Professor Dumbledore, has passed away.

The news has prompted an outpouring of tributes from his co-stars, including Daniel Radcliffe, who played the titular character of Harry Potter.

In an official statement reported by Deadline, Radcliffe expressed his sorrow and admiration for Gambon.

"The world has suddenly become significantly less fun. Michael Gambon was one of the most brilliant and easy-going actors I've ever had the privilege of working with," Radcliffe said. He went on to highlight Gambon's sense of humor and storytelling abilities, describing him as "crazy, edgy, and hysterically funny."

Radcliffe fondly recalled working closely with Gambon during the filming of the sixth installment of the Harry Potter series.

He said that Gambon made the hours spent in front of a green screen more memorable and enjoyable than they needed to be.

"I am so sad to hear he has passed, but I am so grateful that I am one of the lucky people who got to work with him," Radcliffe concluded.

Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger, also paid tribute to Gambon in an Instagram story. She praised his humility and ability to deliver serious moments effortlessly.

J.K. Rowling, the creator of the Harry Potter universe, also expressed her admiration for Gambon, recalling the first time she saw him perform in "King Lear" in 1982.
