Thirteen weeks ago, Johnny Ruffo, an Australian TV star and singer, shared what would become his last social media post.

It has been revealed that he has passed away following a battle with cancer that lasted several years.

According to News.com.au his family posted a message on his Instagram profile, stating, "It is with heavy hearts that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Johnny. Surrounded by his partner Tahnee and his family, Johnny peacefully passed away with support from some incredible nurses and doctors."

Johnny Ruffo became famous after participating in the reality show 'X Factor Australia' before acting in the series 'Home and Away,' and was 35 years old at his time of death.

Since his brain cancer diagnosis in 2017, he was open about his journey, simultaneously trying to raise funds and awareness for the illness.

Lately, there had been silence from him, with his last Instagram post dating from August 7th.

His long-time partner, Tahnee Sims, uploaded a video showing a compilation of clips from Ruffo's fight against the disease, captioning it, "Six years post diagnosis. What a fighter."

The same day the video was shared, Ruffo praised his partner, whom he had been with since 2015, in an interview, thanking her for her support.

He spoke about the grueling bi-weekly treatment that made him feel terrible but mentioned that having her by his side made everything more bearable.

"Honestly, I don't know how she's done it. Sometimes I feel she's had a harder time than me because she's had to go through everything with me – except the chemo – but she's also had to deal with me, my ups and downs, and being an asshole," he said.
