It's no secret that the chemistry between dance partners on shows like "Dancing with the Stars" can sometimes spark more than just a winning performance.
Over the years, the show has been a backdrop for budding romances, proving that love can indeed bloom in the most unexpected places.
Brooke Burke, a 52-year-old American TV personality, fitness trainer, and entrepreneur, recently revealed that she developed feelings for her then 23-year-old dance partner, Derek Hough, when they won the show's seventh season back in 2008.
Brooke opened up about her crush on Derek in an episode of the podcast "Sex, Lies and Spray Tans."
"I definitely had a crush on Derek," Brooke shared.
She went on to say that if she hadn't been married at the time, she would have hoped to start a relationship with him.
During that period, Brooke was dating actor David Charvet, whom she later married in 2011 and divorced in 2018.
Brooke elaborated on how participating in "Dancing with the Stars" can lead to romantic feelings.
"When you're not a dancer, there's no chance you've been so physically connected with someone else without being in a relationship or married to them," she said. For months, you're wrapped in each other's arms, breathing in sync, and experiencing a level of intimacy that can be even more intense than what happens in the bedroom.
Today, Brooke is engaged to real estate agent Scott Rigsby, while Derek Hough married his dance colleague Hayley Ebert in August.
