Priscilla Presley has opened up about the final days of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who tragically died on January 12, 2023, at the age of 54. The cause of death was a small bowel obstruction resulting from previous weight-loss surgery, with opioids found in her blood. This is according to Daily Mail.

In an emotional interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Priscilla recalled her last memories with Lisa Marie, including a celebration at Chateau Marmont for Austin Butler's win in the movie "Elvis."

Priscilla described a lighthearted moment when they both laughed after she tripped on the stairs, followed by Lisa Marie's complaint of severe stomach pain. They left immediately, and two days later, Lisa Marie was gone.

Lisa Marie's death led to a legal dispute between Priscilla and her granddaughter, Riley Keough, over the estate. A settlement was reached, with Priscilla relinquishing control of her late daughter's Promenade Trust to Riley for $1.4 million plus an undisclosed sum for ten years.

The settlement also included Priscilla's wish to be buried at Graceland and resolved misunderstandings within the family.

Priscilla conducted the interview alongside Sofia Coppola, who directed the upcoming biopic "Priscilla," based on Priscilla's biography "Elvis And Me." The movie, set for release on October 23, tells Priscilla's side of her life with Elvis Presley.

The L.A. County Coroner report revealed that Lisa Marie's death resulted from a condition related to small bowel obstruction, caused by adhesions from stomach stapling surgery. Toxicology results showed therapeutic levels of Oxycodone and Buprenorphine, an opioid dependence treatment drug, and traces of Quetiapine, an antipsychotic drug.

Lisa Marie's life was marked by struggles, including five rehab stints for cocaine and opioid abuse, four failed marriages, the loss of her son to suicide, and a custody battle over her twin girls.

She was found unresponsive in her bedroom by her housekeeper, and her ex-husband, Danny Keough, performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The star had undergone plastic surgery two months before the Golden Globes and lost up to 50 pounds as part of a strict regimen.

She had previously battled addiction to opioids after being prescribed them following the birth of her twin daughters in 2008. By 2013, she was heavily abusing cocaine and had checked into rehab at least five times.

Lisa Marie's tumultuous life included rebellion with drugs from the age of 13 to 17, but her mother put her into a Scientology center to get her off drugs. She was believed to have been sober in recent years, but her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, feared she could relapse after her son's death.
