A supersized Easter treat is turning heads online with its sheer size and eating instructions.
Costco is selling a massive 10-pound chocolate bunny named “Pete,” created by Minnesota-based company Maud Borup. The oversized confection, made from white, milk and dark chocolate, is designed as both a centrepiece and a shareable dessert.
Retailing for around $140, though discounted in some stores, the bunny arrives just as Easter spending in the US is expected to reach $24.9 billion, according to the National Retail Federation.
A giant treat
Weighing 10 pounds, the chocolate figure contains around 151 servings, each estimated at 150 calories.
That means consuming the entire bunny would total roughly 22,650 calories, far exceeding typical daily recommendations of 2,000 to 2,500 calories.

The product has been marketed as both a novelty and a social treat, intended to be shared rather than eaten alone.
How to eat it
What has surprised many shoppers is the included guidance on how to break into the solid chocolate figure.
Instructions suggest customers “wrap Pete in a towel” before striking it with a hammer or rolling pin to break it apart.
Alternatively, a heated serrated knife can be used to carefully slice through the chocolate.
The product is expected to be available only for a short period leading up to Easter.
