If you’ve stocked up on frozen snacks recently, it’s worth taking a moment to check your freezer before your next meal.

What’s being recalled

According to the FDA, Aldi has issued a nationwide recall of Fusia Asian Inspirations Veggie Spring Rolls, a frozen appetizer commonly found in the supermarket’s freezer aisles.

The product is sold in 10-ounce boxes.

Why the product is being pulled

The recall stems from a mislabeling issue that could expose customers to an undeclared allergen.

Some cartons marked as Vegetable Spring Rolls may actually contain shrimp spring rolls, meaning shrimp is not properly listed on the ingredient label.

For people with shellfish allergies—or those avoiding shellfish for dietary or religious reasons—unknowingly consuming shrimp poses a risk.

How to spot the affected boxes

The recalled item carries UPC 409910222258 and the best-by date “5/17/2027.”

You’ll typically find the UPC near the barcode on the box and the best-by date stamped on a side or back panel.

What to do if you have it at home

If you discover an affected package, do not consume it.

You can safely dispose of the product at home or return it to any Aldi store for a full refund, even without a receipt.

Keep the box sealed to avoid any potential cross-contact with other foods, and bring the entire package back when you’re ready to request your refund.

Health risks to be aware of

Accidental exposure to shrimp can trigger allergic reactions ranging from mild to severe.

Symptoms may include hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, or tightness in the throat.

Anyone experiencing signs of anaphylaxis should seek immediate medical care.

Reports so far

At this time, there are no confirmed illnesses associated with the recalled spring rolls.
