A popular brand of edible cookie dough has been recalled across 15 U.S. states due to potential Salmonella contamination, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced.
The recalled product is Doughy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, sold in 12-ounce containers with a best-by date of July 4, 2026.
Where it was sold
The FDA says the product reached stores in:
Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Texas.
The recall was classified on December 5 as Class I, the agency’s most serious category, indicating a “reasonable probability” of severe illness if the product is consumed.

Anyone who purchased the recalled dough is urged to throw it away or return it to the retailer for a refund.
No illnesses have been reported, but Salmonella can cause serious infection, particularly in young children, older adults, pregnant people and those with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms may include diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and stomach cramps.
The FDA advises contacting a healthcare provider immediately if symptoms appear after eating the product.
