A new food-safety alert has been issued after plastic was found in a batch of Warwick Meats Premium 4 Star Beef 500g.

The minced beef was sold through independent retailers, including IGA stores across Queensland.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) warns that plastic contamination can pose a risk of injury or illness if eaten.

What’s being recalled

The recall applies to:

  • Warwick Meats Premium 4 Star Beef 500g
  • Best Before: 13/12/2025

No other date codes or Warwick Meats products are affected.

What consumers should do

Anyone who purchased the recalled minced beef should not consume it. Instead, they should return it to the store for a refund.

FSANZ urges customers to check their fridges and freezers in case the product was stored for later use.
