Health officials in the U.S. and Canada have issued a recall of Organic Traditions Jumbo Pumpkin Seeds after routine testing revealed potential Salmonella contamination.
The seeds were distributed in three U.S. states—New Jersey, New York, and Virginia—as well as nationwide across Canada, according to statements from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
So far, no illnesses have been reported, but health agencies are urging consumers to check their packages immediately and discard any affected products or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

Why It Matters
Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause serious illness, particularly for young children, elderly adults, pregnant individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms typically begin between 6 hours to 6 days after exposure and may include fever, stomach cramps, diarrhea (sometimes with blood), and nausea or vomiting.
In severe cases, the infection can lead to hospitalization or worse.
