Getting rid of the burnt-on food remnants that have stained the oven window, baking trays, and everything else in the oven can seem like an insurmountable task. However, it's actually quite simple.

There's a clever trick to tackle the mess in your oven, and the best part is that it doesn't involve any cleaning agents filled with harmful chemicals.

Here's the guide:

What You'll Need for Oven Cleaning

  • Water

  • A spray bottle

  • Baking soda

  • Cloth

  • Vinegar

  • Small bowl

Cleaning the Oven

  1. Remove the racks and baking trays.

  2. Mix a few spoonfuls of baking soda with water in a bowl to create a thick paste.

  3. Apply the paste throughout the oven where cleaning is needed. The liquid baking soda will now turn brown.

  4. Let it sit for at least 12 hours.

  5. The next day, wipe it off with a wet cloth.

  6. Put some vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on areas where baking soda residue remains.

  7. Wipe it off with a wet cloth.

  8. Turn on the oven at low heat for 15-20 minutes to dry it out.

Cleaning the Window

  1. Make another mixture of water and baking soda in a bowl to form a thick paste.

  2. Apply the paste to the window and let it sit for 30 minutes.

  3. Use a wet cloth to wipe off the grime and baking soda paste.

Now you have a sparkling clean oven that you can actually see into - and that doesn't smell like burnt meat sauce or look like a prop from a horror movie. Enjoy!
