7 AI’s have been tasked to estimate Trump’s IQ – and their answers aren’t kind

President Donald Trump has never been shy about praising his own brainpower.

Bragging about how smart you are at a dinner party is always a risky move.

Sooner or later, someone at the table is going to pull out their phone and put those big claims to the test.

Thanks to modern technology, that fact-check now takes just a few seconds.

Putting boasts to the test

President Donald Trump has never been shy about praising his own brainpower, the Irish Star reported.

Back in 2018, he famously called himself “like, really smart” and “a very stable genius” on Twitter, and he later boasted that he “aced” three memory exams.

At an October 3 midterm rally in Vandalia, Ohio, the president went even further by calling himself a “high-IQ person” with a score “among the highest IQs anywhere in the world”. That bold claim caught the attention of a YouTuber named David, who runs the channel I Ask AI.

“I mean, this video was kind of just begging to be made, and that’s why today I’m letting seven AI models estimate Trump’s IQ,” David explained, according to the Irish Star.

He fed transcripts of the president’s recent interviews into seven chatbots and told them to give an honest number with “no sugarcoating”.

Harsh scores roll in

While Microsoft Copilot and OpenAI’s ChatGPT refused to guess a number, ChatGPT noted his speaking style was “highly uneven” even if he sometimes shows “sharp tactical thinking”. Elon Musk’s Grok chatbot was far blunter, placing the president between 95 and 110.

“He loops the same handful of claims, dodges the actual question, and treats insistence as proof,” Grok replied, though it praised his “sales instinct”. Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta AI went lower with an 85 to 95 score, saying he looks “street-smart” rather than “intellectually sharp”.

Google Gemini also landed on 85 to 95. According to the Irish Star, Google’s bot called his word choice “elementary” and said his thoughts “constantly derail into fragmented tangents” that point to “weak working memory and zero conceptual depth”.

Even his own app

Chinese chatbot DeepSeek gave the lowest mark of all at “around 80 to 85”. It noted that he “rambles, repeats himself, dodges direct questions” and “contradicts plain facts”, calling his analytical impression “a low average at best”.

Even the AI built into Trump’s own Truth Social app was not impressed, the Irish Star reported. It scored him between 95 and 105, or “average to somewhat below average”.

“He struggles to define basic terms, shifts topics when pressed, relies heavily on superlatives, and makes unsupported claims with certainty,” the Truth Social bot wrote.
