In a precautionary move to protect consumers, John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. (JBSS) has issued a voluntary recall for its 8.25 oz Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews. The recall comes after the discovery that the product may contain undeclared coconut and milk, posing a serious risk to individuals with allergies or severe sensitivities to these ingredients.

Product Details:

  • Product Name: Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews

  • Size: 8.25 oz plastic can

  • Best If Used By Date: Jul 08, 2025 GH2 (located on the bottom of the can)

  • UPC: 078742133348

  • Packaging: Plastic can with a blue wrap-around label

The affected product was distributed in select Walmart stores across multiple states, including AL, AR, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VT, WV, and also through Walmart.com.

The recall was initiated following a consumer report of finding coconut cashews in a container labeled as honey roasted cashews. Further investigation revealed that a limited number of containers were mistakenly labeled with honey roasted cashew labels instead of coconut cashew labels during the manufacturing process.

To date, no adverse reactions have been reported. However, JBSS is taking this action out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of its consumers.

Consumer Advisory: Individuals who have purchased the recalled Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews are urged not to consume the product if they are allergic or sensitive to coconut or milk. Consumers can return the product to any Walmart store for a full refund or dispose of it.

For further information or questions regarding the recall, consumers can contact John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. at 1-800-874-8734 from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm CDT, or via email at info@jbssinc.com.
