According to Ukraine's own statements, they have destroyed a Russian fighter jet in the last 24 hours.
This was reported by The Kyiv Independent, citing the morning update from the Ukrainian General Staff.
Since the start of their large-scale invasion on February 24th of last year, the Russian armed forces have lost a total of 288,630 soldiers, as reported in the daily update on October 16th by the General Staff of the Ukrainian armed forces. In the last 24 hours alone, there were 860 fatalities among the Russian armed forces.
In addition, Russia has lost 4,965 tanks, 9,385 armored vehicles, 9,271 vehicles and tankers, 6,910 artillery systems, 814 multiple rocket launcher systems, 547 air defense systems, 318 airplanes, 317 helicopters, 5,280 drones, and 20 boats.
These figures have not yet been independently verified and/or confirmed.
Therefore, they should be viewed with caution.
In war, it can be advantageous for parties to the conflict to deliberately spread false information to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the enemy.
