Dr. Michael Mosley, a well-known 67-year-old British TV doctor famous for his appearances on shows like "The One Show" and "This Morning," as well as for promoting the 5:2 diet, has been found dead.

Dr. Mosley had gone missing on June 5, 2024, while hiking on the Greek island of Symi.

His disappearance triggered an extensive search-and-rescue operation involving local police, firefighters, drones, and search dogs.

Mosley had set off on a walk from Saint Nikolas Beach to Pedi, a route typically considered safe and well-traveled by tourists.

However, concerns quickly grew due to the rugged terrain and extreme heat, which led to fears that he might have suffered an accident or heatstroke. CCTV footage showed him safely reaching Pedi, but he was not seen afterward, prompting an intensified search in that area​ according to Ekathimerini.

Despite the deployment of numerous resources, including a helicopter and additional rescue teams from nearby islands, the search ended in tragedy.

Dr. Mosley's body was discovered, bringing a heartbreaking conclusion to the efforts to find him. His passing has left a significant impact on his family, friends, and the many fans who followed his health and diet advice over the years​
