Prominent rappers Cardi B and Sexyy Red have recently discovered their voices being exploited in an AI-generated scam scheme. A video surfaced last week featuring an AI-generated voice impersonating Cardi B, delivering deceptive statements aimed at conning people out of money.

In the video, the AI version of Cardi B is heard saying, "Yo, it's your girl Cardi, and I'm about to show you how to get $16,000 in your pocket right now, for free." It continues with misleading claims about state funds being readily available without the need for employment.

This fraudulent scheme caught the attention of the real Cardi B, who reposted the video with a remark highlighting the ease of earning money through lawsuits: "AI is crazy...another lawsuit just fell into my lap...I love easy money."

A similar scam involving an AI-generated voice claiming to be rapper Sexyy Red also emerged. The voice in this scam mirrors the structure of the Cardi B scam, offering "$16,400 in your pocket right now, for free."

Sexyy Red responded to the misuse of her voice by indicating her intention to seek legal action, posting, "My lawyer is going to have a field day."

These incidents underscore the growing concerns surrounding AI technology's potential misuse, especially in creating convincing impersonations of well-known personalities for fraudulent purposes.

Both artists' responses indicate a serious stance against such exploitation and a readiness to pursue legal avenues to address these violations.
