The Norwegian fintech company Horde has hidden a treasure chest containing 1,078,218 Norwegian kroner (approximately $125,000) in a forest. The unique amount, according to Horde, corresponds to the number of people in Norway with interest-bearing consumer debt.

The hunt for debt Freedom

To find the treasure, Horde is offering a series of hints through their app and newsletters.

The company's app aims to help users manage their finances and pay off loans. Since this eye-catching PR stunt, the app has become the most downloaded free app in Norway's App Store.

The codes for these locks can be acquired through hints that Horde will release on their platforms.

In a TikTok video, Horde announced their treasure hunt with the tagline, "Let the hunt for debt freedom begin."

This unique PR stunt has not only made Horde's app incredibly popular but also sparked a nationwide treasure hunt. It's a win-win situation for both the company and the lucky individual who finds the treasure.
