In the Kherson region, specifically on the left bank, Russian forces launched eight assault attempts to overthrow Ukrainian troops from their positions.

However, these efforts were successfully repulsed by the Ukrainian defense, resulting in the withdrawal of the Russian troops.

According to the morning report of December 20 from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, shared on Facebook, the Ukrainian defense forces are not only holding their ground but also expanding their bridgehead in the Kherson direction.

The report highlights the difficulties faced by the Russian occupation forces, particularly the lack of their own ammunition production.

Consequently, they have resorted to using low-quality artillery and mortar charges supplied by North Korea. This substandard ammunition has frequently exploded in the barrels of the Russian guns and mortars, leading to significant loss of weapons and personnel.

Such incidents were notably observed in the Dnepr group of troops under General Teplinsky's command.

On the Kupiansk front, within the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Joint Task Force, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled three Russian attacks near Synkivka, Kharkiv Oblast. Similarly, in the Lyman direction, six enemy assaults were thwarted in the areas of Serebryansk forestry (Luhansk region) and east of Terny (Donetsk region).

The past day witnessed a total of 87 combat clashes. The enemy launched one missile and 26 air strikes, conducting 87 MLRS attacks on Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

The Air Force of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck six enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentration areas, while the missile forces units hit three enemy personnel concentration areas, a control post, three artillery, and four ammunition depots.
