All ongoing aid projects will undergo a review, according to the commissioner. The EU’s total financial aid to the Palestinian Authority stands at 691 million euros.

The Islamist group Hamas has been responsible for the deaths of at least 700 Israelis and has taken numerous hostages. In response, Israel has killed over 400 Palestinians in Gaza.

The situation represents Israel’s most significant loss since the Yom Kippur War in 1973.
