A combat drone has crashed in Romania near the border with Ukraine, according to a report by n-tv.de.

According to N-tv, the Romanian Ministry of Defense announced that a drone crater was discovered about three kilometers west of the village of Plauru in an uninhabited area, possibly caused by an explosion.

This incident occurred as nearby Ukrainian ports on the Danube were heavily attacked by the Russian army during the night from Wednesday to Thursday.

This marks the fourth such incident in Romania.

Plauru is located on the Chilia arm of the Danube, which serves as the border with Ukraine and is directly opposite the Ukrainian port of Ismail, less than 500 meters away.

Moscow recently terminated an agreement that allowed Ukraine to export grain via the Black Sea. Since then, Kyiv has been making increased efforts to ship grain through its own Danube ports and neighboring EU member state Romania.
