France's armed forces are assembling and training a new reconnaissance unit to support offensive operations.

This unit has already participated in NATO exercises in Estonia, demonstrating capabilities well-suited for potential deployment to Ukraine. This development was reported by a correspondent from the French radio station RTL.

The new unit, known as FRAN, is equipped with skills in both traditional reconnaissance techniques and modern drone operations.

"We can infiltrate enemy lines, approach their defensive positions, or even pursue them. From there, we have two options for reconnaissance: deploying a drone or going old-school and conducting the reconnaissance ourselves," explained a soldier from the FRAN unit.

This dual capability allows the unit to adapt to various battlefield conditions, making them versatile and effective in gathering intelligence. Their recent involvement in NATO exercises has provided them with valuable experience and showcased their readiness for more demanding missions.

Macron's Commitment to Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron has reiterated his commitment to supporting Ukraine militarily.

"As I have said before, I do not rule anything out, because we are facing an adversary who leaves nothing off the table," Macron stated.

The training regimen for the FRAN unit is rigorous, combining physical endurance, technical skills, and tactical knowledge. The integration of drone technology into their operations represents a significant advancement in reconnaissance capabilities, allowing for real-time data collection and analysis. This blend of traditional and modern methods ensures that the FRAN unit can operate effectively in a variety of scenarios.

The future deployment of the FRAN unit to Ukraine, while not yet confirmed, signals a strong possibility given the current situation.
