Girl, 13, arrested for murder after mother-of-two found dead

A quiet neighbourhood in Swindon, Southern UK, was left stunned after a woman was found dead on Friday evening, prompting a major police response.

Officers arrived in Moredon following reports of disorder, later confirming the victim was local mother Sarah Forrester.

Community shock

Daily Mirror cites Wiltshire Police for telling reporters that a 13-year-old girl had been arrested on suspicion of murder and questioned before being released on bail as inquiries continue.

Detectives stressed they are not seeking anyone else over the incident.

The Kelly Foundation, a Swindon mental-health support charity where Forrester volunteered, publicly honoured her contribution.

In a post on Facebook, the charity said, Forrester was “completely committed to the charity and devoted to her two young children.”

In its tribute, the organisation described her loss as deeply painful for colleagues, friends and especially her family.

The group said: “Sarah was an incredible person, kind, thoughtful, considerate, caring and funny… she will be truly, truly missed.”

Police response

Following the discovery, officers increased their visibility across the area to reassure residents.

In a statement, the force said the investigation remains active and urged people not to circulate speculation online

Police reiterated there is “no wider risk to the public,” noting that a cordon remained in place while specialist teams examined the scene.

Daily Mirror cites Detective Inspector Darren Ambrose of the Major Crime Investigation Team for saying:

“This is a serious incident in which a woman has sadly died. We have set up a cordon at the address while an investigation is carried out.”

Appeal for calm

He added that officers understand the concern felt locally but emphasised that the situation is contained.

“I can confirm that we have arrested a teenage girl in connection with this incident and we are not looking for anyone else,” he said, encouraging residents to speak directly with neighbourhood officers if they have worries.
