President Zelensky's visit to Vilnius marked the beginning of his trip to the three Baltic countries, highlighting the region's united front against Moscow's aggression. Lithuania, alongside Latvia and Estonia, has consistently been among Kyiv's most steadfast supporters.

This long-term support package, approved by the Lithuanian government, encompasses a range of initiatives aimed at bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities. President Nauseda detailed plans to send ammunition, generators, detonation systems, and M-577 armored personnel carriers in the coming months.

Moreover, Lithuania's commitment extends beyond mere equipment provision. President Nauseda emphasized the intention to train Ukrainian soldiers and enhance defense industry cooperation. This initiative includes agreements on joint defense production, notably in anti-drone systems, signed between the two countries.

Lithuania's Defense Ministry outlined that the allocated funds would be directed towards new military acquisitions for Ukraine, covering the period from 2024 to 2026. Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas stressed the critical role of the weapons and equipment supplied by Lithuania and its allies in Ukraine's fight for independence and the broader security of Europe.

An integral component of Lithuania's support focuses on demining efforts. The Baltic nation has led a coalition dedicated to this cause since July 2023. The assistance comprises funding for mine clearance equipment and vehicles, with plans to deliver demining equipment, ammunition, and food rations to Ukraine between 2024 and 2025.

The training aspect of Lithuania's support is equally significant, with plans to train approximately 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers by the end of 2024. This comprehensive training program reflects Lithuania's dedication to Ukraine's military proficiency and operational readiness.
