Yevgeny Satanovsky, a former Russian state television pundit, recently made headlines for predicting the collapse of Russia.

This comes after he was fired from his on-screen role for making derogatory comments about two Russian foreign ministry officials. This is reported by Ukrainetoday.

The prediction and Its context

Satanovsky, who is also the president of the Middle East Institute in Moscow, believes that Russia will face turmoil after President Vladimir Putin leaves office.

He stated that Putin's departure is inevitable due to aging, and his successor is likely to be weaker. This prediction comes amid growing concerns about Putin's health and the waning domestic support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. That's why Satanovsky predicts that Russia will collapse during the 2030s.

The controversial Firing

Before making this prediction, Satanovsky was dismissed from his regular pundit role on the state-run Russia-1 channel.

He had accused Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova of being a "heavy-drinking" antisemite and called Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov a "hopeless drunkard."

Satanovsky's forecast adds to the growing questions about Russia's future leadership and stability, especially considering Putin's recent constitutional changes that allow him to remain in power.
