A new CNN/SSRS poll finds Donald Trump’s approval rating at just 37%, one of the lowest marks of his presidency.

That’s a sharp drop from 47% in February, shortly after the start of his second term.

The poll, conducted October 27–30 among 1,245 adults, shows 63% disapproval, nearly matching his all-time low after the Capitol riot in January 2021.

Trump’s falling support is tied to the state of the U.S. economy, which remains the top concern for Americans. 47% of respondents listed the economy and cost of living as their biggest worry.

Only 32% of Americans say the country is doing “very” or “fairly well,” while 68% describe things as “pretty” or “very badly.”

Americans sour on Trump’s policies

61% say Trump’s policies have made the economy worse, while only 27% say they’ve helped. On the world stage, 56% believe Trump has damaged America’s global reputation, and 32% say he’s improved it.

The public is also uneasy about Trump’s use of presidential authority. 61% say he has gone too far, pointing to aggressive executive actions, military strikes without congressional approval, and National Guard deployments.

With midterm elections looming, 41% said their vote will be to oppose Trump, while just 21% say they’ll vote to support him.

Trump responded by calling the results “fake polls” and accused the media of bias. On Truth Social, he wrote:

“So many Fake Polls… slanted toward Democrats… I ended eight Wars, created the Greatest Economy… I’m sitting in the Oval Office!”
