Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, the heiress to the French cosmetics giant L'Oréal, has made history as the first woman to amass a fortune exceeding 100 billion dollars.

This significant financial milestone was reported by Bloomberg News, referencing their Billionaires Index.

On Thursday, Bettencourt Meyers' net worth reached an astonishing $100.1 billion, equivalent to over 670 billion kroner. This surge in wealth coincides with a record high in L'Oréal's stock, which hit 451.30 euros per share, following a 0.6 percent increase on the day.

The sole child and granddaughter of L'Oréal's founder, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers is now ranked as the 12th wealthiest person globally according to the Bloomberg index.

The list also features her compatriot Bernard Arnault, the founder of the luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, known for brands like Louis Vuitton, Moet Hennessy, Dior, and Fendi. Arnault's fortune stands at 179.0 billion dollars.

At the top of the list is Elon Musk, known for his ventures in Tesla and the media platform X, with a net worth of 232.4 billion dollars.
