Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced on Monday that Russia completed the delivery of tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus in October.

This information was reported by the news agency AP according to Voa News.

Details of the Weapons

Lukashenko did not specify the number of tactical nuclear weapons involved or their exact locations. Tactical nuclear weapons, designed for use on the battlefield, have a shorter range compared to more powerful strategic nuclear weapons and are typically capable of destroying smaller areas.

Russia states that it will maintain control over the tactical nuclear weapons it has sent to Belarus.

Lukashenko previously mentioned that these weapons are intended to deter aggression from NATO member Poland.

Poland's Role and the Invasion of Ukraine

Poland offers military, humanitarian, and political support to neighboring Ukraine amid Russia's invasion and participates in international sanctions against Russia and Belarus.

Russian troops invaded Ukraine from the north in the early stages of the war, with Belarusian forces not participating in the invasion.
